We will ROCK you. (Apr 13, 2010 - May 03, 2010)
We're on the lookout for Houston's best musical talent. And to find it, we're taking submissions from local bands (must be Houston-based) to play in a live concert showcase for the crown. Do you think you have the talent? Or maybe you just love music & want to follow the action & listen along. We dig that.
This is it Houston, we know there is amazing local musical talent in our city across all genres. We go to live shows multiple times a week, we interact with musicians, we see & hear what's new & fresh out there throughout the country by attending festivals & getting the inside scoop from music media. All that said, we think Houston can show the country our music scene is the best. Are you with us?
Join us for a live show Saturday May 1st at Warehouse Live. See the event details & RSVP NOW!

OK, this sounds interesting, how does it work?
You submit your music, our panel of expert judges has a cram session & narrows it down to 5 bands (final # subject to change), those bands battle it out in a live show, 1 band wins based on a live audience vote + final scoring by judges.
Who are these so-called "experts"?
The judges include Gina Miller of the famous SugarHill Recording Studios, Jason Price of Rise Up Agency / Show Me the Stage!, Andrew Green of Dote School of Music / Show Me the Stage!, & Joey Guerra, pop music writer for the Houston Chronicle.
What else?
This is the making of rockstars folks, so we're gonna set you up by pimping the concert on the radio with our local radio partner (TBA) so that the show is packed out and your band gets some well-deserved publicity, creating custom poster art & providing flyers for you to promote the show to your fans, & posting a special blog on our Fiesta Movement site solely about your band that you can use to rally your fans.
What about the concert showcase? Can I invite as many people as I want? Will it be free?
Yes & yes. This showcase will be free & open to the public. And there will be some VIP shizzle for a few special guests of the bands selected.
My band is Texas country, can I enter?
Yes, all genres are welcome. In fact, we hope to get some variety!
ME, me, me... what do I get if I win?
A sweet prize package + a real chance to become famous (we mean that).
Define "sweet".
The prize package includes:
- high-fives, love & adoration from all your new fans
- 10 hours of studio time provided by Dote School of Music & Show Me The Stage!
- a side stage performance opportunity at The Showgrounds at Sam Houston Race Park opening for an upcoming national touring act
- a professional on location promo shoot & digital images from Team Houston photographers Amber Roussel & Mark Austin who are regular contributing photographers in Paste Magazine, SPIN, Rolling Stone & more
- the opportunity to advance & go head-to-head with bands in 19 other cities across the country & compete for national recognition with one of Ford's media partners including the chance to play at Bonnaroo!
- & stay tuned we're adding more to it often (think really awesome stuff)
How do I sign up?
