It's simple, really.

Of course Philadelphia has The Liberty Bell, and a thousand other historic and significant buildings, but our magnificent city also has it's own brand of Geek.  We gather in some of the coolest establishments ever made, and we definitely think that these places deserve attention.

The Geek List is a list of 10 places in Philadelphia that every geek should know and love (as curated by Tim and Mikey).

We're creating a map that visually represents their (approximate) geographic location.

Once that's done,  it'll be painted for all to see as a mural in a prominent area of town.

Stay tuned for more details!

Checked out some of the other teams’ murals at FastFiesta.com, and yours really does rock all of them. It’s more exciting, more artistic, less blatantly advertising and all around better than the others. Great job.

About Team Philadelphia

Team Philadelphia
Tim Quirino

I’ve been a graphic designer formally since I graduated in 2007. However, I’ve been freelancing for the majority of the past decade, with clients that range from everyday garage bands to MySpace, SonyBMG and Interscope. Right now, I work as a multimedia designer with QVC at their headquarters in West Chester, PA. Previously, I’ve worked at an interactive agency wtih clients big and small all over the Philadelphia area. In my spare time, I’m a competitive bowler, competing in a league with a team named, “Big Red Tank.” I frequently dine at restaurants and bars around the city. I love driving to New Jersey to spend weekends with my girlfriend. Sometimes, I dress up as a Stormtrooper and attend comic conventions or nonprofit and charity events to entertain kids and hang out with my fellow Star Wars mega-enthusiasts. I currently live in Philly’s fastest-growing and most desirable neighborhood, Northern Liberties. It’s my playground. I’ve heard it called Philadelphia’s own SOHO, a place where new restaurants and bars open in order to attract the right blend of young/old/new/creative/edgy. My friends and I are outrageously fun, love being out and about, and tweet often. Oh, and I co-founded Geekadelphia.

My real name is Michaelangelo Ilagan. Primarily, I’ve been a web designer/developer. Though, I’m most known for being a socialite. I often attend all sorts of interactive marketing-related happy hours and discussion panels. Generally though, I’m where ever people gather. I’m a foodie and often check out all sorts of restaurants in the area; sometimes it’s for leisure, other times it’s for blogging for sites such as Uwishunu or Unbreaded. Recently, I’ve been dabbling with photography. Though overall, I’m an aficionado for all forms of art, entertainment, nightlife and cuisine. In essence, there’s a few crucial elements to my lifestyle: creativity, spontaneity, helping/meeting people and always being on the move. Last year, I got involved with Blame Drew’s Cancer and combined my love of the Internet and social media with charity, rock music and even Taco Bell. I helped my friend Drew Olanoff and the rest of the BDC team put together the first Blame-A-Thon in Philadelphia, a 24hr event aimed at cancer-awareness.
